Conducting Digital Security Training Batch 5
On February 11, 2024, the fifth batch of the Digital Security Training by the Youth Empowerment (YE) and its partner, Women Lead Resource Center (WLRC) brought together a diverse group of 21 participants, comprising 9 males, 11 females, and 1 participant with unspecified gender. This session aimed to empower participants with essential knowledge and skills in digital security, focusing on protecting their personal and professional digital assets. Key topics covered included internet safety, data privacy, case studies on the importance of digital security, response strategies for hacking incidents, secure communication methods, encryption techniques, and password management.
The training session aimed to establish a strong foundation in digital security by delving into internet safety, data privacy, and the importance of proactive security measures. Practical security solutions such as encryption techniques, secure cloud storage, robust password creation, and two-factor authentication were also explored. Participants committed to spreading digital security awareness within their communities, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing. The inclusion ratio was balanced, with 42.9% male, 52.4% female, and 4.7% unspecified gender participants from Yangon, Magway, Bago, Tanintharyi, and Shan State. In conclusion, the fifth batch of the Digital Security Training has significantly contributed to fostering a safer digital landscape, empowering individuals, and promoting digital security awareness within their communities.
