Paper AirStrike Online Campaign Against Military Junta Aerial Aggression (April 17, 2024)

On April 17, 2024, Myanmar New Year’s Day, the Youth Empowerment (YE) and its Partners with the support of  New Myanmar Foundation , participated in a paper airstrike facebook campaign as a protest against the military junta’s acts of aerial aggression, which constitute war crimes. We stood in defiance of the military junta’s atrocities against our people, mobilizing the collective power of both domestic and international communities through the symbolic gesture of paper airplanes. Participants folded various paper airplanes, released them into the air, wrote prayers on them, and displayed them prominently. This act symbolized our collective prayers and hopes for peace.

We expressed solidarity with those who have suffered the loss of loved ones and homes due to these airstrikes. Additionally, we denounced the nations and organizations that facilitate the transport and sale of fuel, enabling the military junta to continue its aerial assaults. This campaign was a powerful demonstration of unity and resistance, amplifying our call for justice and an end to the military junta’s aerial aggression.
