Organizing White Campaign

On February 1, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Youth Empowerment (YE) and its partner organization,New Myanmar Foundation (NMF), organized the White Campaign inside  Myanmar to mark the third anniversary of the military coup attempt in Myanmar. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the ongoing struggle against dictatorship, promote anti-dictatorship sentiments, and encourage active participation in civil disobedience. During the event, organizers delivered compelling speeches emphasizing the oppressive nature of the military regime, the importance of unity, and the continued effort to restore democracy.

Participants wore white shirts as a symbol of unity and peaceful resistance, and key campaign messages, such as “Ban Jet Fuel Exports to Myanmar Fascist Dictator,” “Stop Blood Taxation,” “Stop Paying Tax to Junta,” and “Do CDM and take to People’s Embrace,” were prominently displayed on banners and signs. A photography campaign captured the spirit of the event, showcasing the determination and unity of the participants. Despite security concerns and communication restrictions, the campaign successfully raised awareness, fostered a sense of unity, and documented the collective resistance against the military dictatorship. This Campaign was a significant step in the fight for democracy and justice in Myanmar, inspiring continued efforts against the oppressive regime.
